Softbooq is a single subscription that covers ERP, Files, Accounts, and Portals for one company. AI credits are a separate wallet (see AI Credits). Subscriptions are billed monthly or annually via Stripe.

30-day trial

New tenants get a 30-day free trial with full Standard-tier feature access. No credit card required to start. During the trial:
  • AI is enabled with a tighter per-request cap (3 credits) and 2 free credits to try
  • Storage is capped at 5 GB
  • Email sending is rate-limited to prevent spam abuse from disposable signups
When the trial converts to paid, the rate limits relax, your full tier signup AI bonus is granted, and storage moves to your plan’s quota.

Upgrade

1

Open Settings → Subscription & Billing → Change Plan

2

Pick the new plan

The summary shows the prorated charge for the remainder of your current billing cycle.
3

Confirm

Charge is applied immediately. New features unlock without delay. Future cycles bill at the new plan’s full rate.

Downgrade

1

Open Settings → Subscription & Billing → Change Plan → Downgrade

2

Pick the lower plan

The downgrade is queued; you keep current-plan features until the end of the cycle, then drop to the lower plan.
3

Watch for downgrade-blockers

If your current usage exceeds the lower plan’s quotas (e.g. more than 25 users on Standard while downgrading to Starter), you must reduce usage before the downgrade can apply. Softbooq alerts you a week before cycle end.

Stripe proration on plan change

Mid-cycle plan changes are prorated automatically by Stripe:
  • Upgrade: charged the difference between old and new plan, prorated for days remaining in the cycle.
  • Downgrade: credit for unused portion of the higher plan goes to your Stripe customer balance and applies to the next invoice.
Proration handles per-user pricing too: if you add a user mid-cycle, you are charged a prorated per-user amount for the remaining days. If you remove a user, you receive a prorated credit.

Cancel

1

Open Settings → Subscription & Billing → Cancel

2

Pick the reason

Optional, used to improve the product.
3

Confirm

The subscription is set to cancel at the end of the current billing cycle. You retain full access until then. After cancellation, your data is retained read-only for 90 days; export at any time during that window.

Update billing details

1

Open Settings → Subscription & Billing → Billing Details

2

Update card or billing address

Card details are managed by Stripe via the secure card-update flow. Softbooq never sees your full card number.
3

Save

Changes apply to the next billing cycle. In-flight invoices retry against the new card automatically if a previous attempt failed.

Failed payments

If a renewal fails (insufficient funds, expired card), Stripe retries automatically over the next 3 weeks with smart retry logic. During this window you receive in-app and email warnings. If all retries fail, the subscription pauses: you keep read access for 14 days then your workspace is suspended (no data loss; you can resume by adding a working card).
