Softbooq AI is a context-aware assistant built directly into the ERP. It reads your live business data — invoices, contracts, employees, projects, expenses, and more — and answers questions in plain language. It knows which module you are in and surfaces relevant suggestions before you even type.

What Softbooq AI can do

  • Answer questions about your financials, team, pipeline, and operations
  • Summarise data across any module (overdue invoices, who is on leave, top clients by revenue)
  • Help you understand policies, explain records, and surface patterns in your data
  • Cite exactly which records it used to form its answer, so you can verify the source
  • Respond in formatted markdown — tables, bullet lists, code blocks, headers
Softbooq AI must be enabled for your workspace and your role must have AI permission. If the AI button is not visible, ask your Admin to check Settings → AI.

Opening the assistant

Click the Sparkles button in the sidebar to open the AI panel. It slides up from the bottom of the screen on mobile and appears as a floating panel on the left side of the screen on desktop. The panel stays on top of your current module — you can read an answer and immediately act on it without navigating away.

Suggestion chips

When you open a new chat, Softbooq AI shows suggestion chips tailored to the module you are currently in:

Source citations

When Softbooq AI answers a question using your data, a Based on your data label appears below the response. Click it to expand the list of source records the answer was drawn from — invoices, contracts, employees, projects, vendor bills, or expenses. This lets you verify the answer against the underlying records, or click through to investigate further.

Starting a new chat

Click the Zap icon in the top-right corner of the panel to start a fresh conversation. Your previous chat history is preserved — you can start a new session without losing the old one.

Troubleshooting

Softbooq AI must be enabled for your workspace. Go to Settings → AI and confirm the AI assistant is turned on. Your role must also have AI permission — ask an Admin to verify your role has access.
Softbooq AI queries your live data and generates a response in real time — complex questions across large datasets can take a few seconds. If it does not respond after 15 seconds, close the panel and try again. If the issue persists, check your internet connection.
Expand the Based on your data source citations below the response to see which records were used. If the answer references outdated or incorrect records, the underlying data in the relevant module may need to be updated. The AI answers based on what is in your system at the time of the question.
There is a 2-second cooldown between messages to prevent duplicate sends. Wait a moment and try again. If the input field appears frozen, close and reopen the panel.

FAQ

No. Softbooq AI is read-only — it can query and summarise your data but cannot create, edit, or delete any records. All actions must be taken by you in the relevant module.
Queries are processed securely within the Softbooq platform. Your data is not used to train external AI models. See the Softbooq privacy policy at softbooq.com/legal/privacy for full details.
Yes, within a session. Each chat session persists so you can scroll back through the conversation. Click the Zap icon to start a fresh session when you want a clean slate.
Access is controlled by two settings: the workspace-level AI toggle in Settings, and per-role AI permission. Admins can grant or restrict AI access per role in Settings → Users & Roles.
