# Did my email arrive?

> Where Softbooq shows whether an invoice, quote or other email reached your customer, and what to do when it did not

When Softbooq emails something for you, it shows whether it arrived. On an **invoice** or **quote** you see its latest email in one line. On a **customer**, you see emails to their address that did not get through. Every email is listed in **Settings → Messaging & Channels → Email Activity**.

## What the line can say

| It says | What happened |
| - | - |
| Delivered | The receiving server accepted it, on the date shown |
| Waiting to be sent | It is in the queue and goes out within a few minutes |
| Delayed | The address could not take it yet; delivery is being retried |
| Did not arrive: the address does not accept email | It bounced; the address is wrong or closed |
| Did not arrive: refused | The receiving server blocked it or treated it as spam |
| Not sent: held by this month's free email limit | Your monthly free emails are used up (see below) |
| Not sent: no email service is set up, or your email service refused the sign-in | Check your email settings |
| Sent, and whether it arrived shows once the provider reports it | Delivery reports come in after sending |
| Sent through your own email account | Softbooq cannot see delivery for your own mailbox; a bounce notice arrives in that mailbox |

## Fixing it

The fix is shown next to the problem:

* **Correct the customer's email**, then send it again from the invoice or quote.
* **Send again** from Email Activity, for example for emails that were held.
* Open your email settings when no service is set up or your provider refused the sign-in.

To understand what happened, choose **Ask Jacinta** next to it.

## Held emails

Softbooq's own email service includes a set number of free emails each month. When they are used up, further invoices, reminders and notifications are **held**, not lost, until the next month. Customer sign-in codes still go out. To send without a limit, connect your own email provider in **Settings → Messaging & Channels → Email Service**, then use **Send again** in Email Activity.
